Respect !

Just received " Those revolutionary days "; from you, with a nice word from Dirk. Great album. Really wonderful. " Necropolises"; freezes the heart. " Those revolutionary days " is so mental. Mental Siberia is a new Besprizornié, and so on, I could continue with all the songs. When will you come and play in Marseille?

Congrats for the LP, my best of 2008

I just want to tell you that I saw you in Brest on saturday the first of december at the fantastic "Cabaret Vauban" and it was really great. Mecano is still -de facto- one of my favourite bands.

Best wishes.

Dear Mecano,
i've received your last opus "Those revolutionary Days".........My earth is beating strongly... I remember twenty years ago when i was listening "Untitled" in my "teenage bedroom"; Melancolie, Joie, so many hopes and illusions...but... you're always a way, and what a strong way!, to stay alive in this new middle-age world that we know nowadays.;Thanks. Thanks.Thanks. Prenez soin de vous, take care, good
luck.......

thank you very much for your kindness, as we met in Brest.
Maybe you wonder, why someone visits a concert and an exposition so far from home.

When i was 19 ore 20 years old, i listened to simple stuff like heavy metal or the ramones.
i found Mecano , just as i left these music, and a band, that created such different sounds in a few years was great.
I enjoyed the sound very much. The voice and the accordeon were pathetic, and the bass, it seems to me, put them and the other instruments together to form a conrguent sound. Then the Artwork: figures without psychobeat and some without sex, ( the inner labels of untitled and subtitled ) belonging to a world of industry. Even the more complex Figures like the the figure on the cover of snaketales showes no erotical being.

Then Autoportrait: the cover looked like a tinplate, and the tryptichon on the backside...
To me a dying world, filled with a poisening industry and figures, transforming from flesh into steel.
The sound changed in a way i never heard before.

At last Flues Vista, a masterpiece with its cold, clear and sad songs.

Later i found other musicians.
First John Cale, changing his arrangements on and on, when he is on tour.
Then there were the Meat Puppets: Enfolding their music from simple SST-Punk to their own sound within 3 LPs.
Coltrane: speaking Saxophone.
Jah Wobble: hypnotic bass.
Robert Wyatt: can´t describe him

But i have to say, that Mecano with their unique Movement of pantings and sculptures was the first cut, and the deepest.

I enjoyed the concert in Brest. It shows me something, i missed a little bit on those revolutionary Days, but could not explain before.
But it was clear, as you started to play. It was your bass, dancing througth the songs.

Thanks so much for your performance at Brest in France, you and your musicians were fantastic !Hope there "ll be a live album... It's not just a resurrection but a transfiguration that you have made. Your last album is also so refreshing , luminous, reviving that it nourishes the best and deepest part of the human soul. Thanks so much again. Take care.

hi

Since I saw last week Control, I've listened to Joy Division , but with this exception, I'm still only listening to "those revolutionary days", and I think for a long time again. I'd like to say in a few words what I think about this album but it will be easier for me to do it in French (I hope you may read it)

I'll soon order to you 2 ou 3 copies in order to give them to friends as a present.

Bye bye

4/11/2007 J.S.

this week I got the CD from you. I ordered this title for my friend but I listened it right now and I decided that I must have it my personal collection too. It is really very nice. I don't heard so good music very long time. I must tell you that I listened your music in early eighties last time when I was in the high school. It is more than 25 years. To the revolution in 1989 was very hard to buy the LP's from the west countries. And after revolution is the situation similar. Music is business only and in shops are pop stars only.

I ve just received your beautiful cd. thank you very much for your gift.. it's playing now and i would like to say i enjoy the music, symphonic introduction, voice of Dirk, violon, the voice of the woman... a fantastic atmophere very cold sometime melancholic, sometime more strong with guitars electronic. I think very power
Congratulations dear Tejo and Dirk , i will listen more again to tell you more impressions.

I am french and I just got this great information that Mecano are touring again and will be in France, unfortunately for a unique concert in Brest on December 1st 2007 …Brest is 600 km far from Paris, and a lot of Parisian fans (like me) waiting for over 25 years to enjoy a Mecano concert, will not be able to afford the cost of the travel to go to Brest. Do you think there is some chances that Mecano could add a date for another concert in Paris ? Please let me know what could help the decision to bring up this rendez-vous in Paris with many others Mecano fans…

Thanks and Best regards,

I thank you.
It was also for me a very wonderfull evening as it was for you.
